In the 12th century, nomadic tribes of Mongol hordes invaded and conquered most of Northern Asia and Eastern Europe under Genghis Khan. Stopping each night to make camp, they would place their upturned shields over their camp fires and cook their meat with wooden sticks….And so the concept of The Mongolian Barbeque was born!!
At THE MONGOLIAN BBQ, 7 Anglesea Street Dublin 2, the concept remains almost the same. All you do is grab a bowl and choose your ingredients from the selection of meat, seafood, vegetables, tofu and noodles. You pick what you like! Then season with spices, herbs and sauces and let the griller do the rest. Bonus: if you are a vegetarian, then you can choose 2 bowls of vegetables!
Staff are freindly and helpful and there are many specials if you are on a budget. Lunch special €5.90, it’s very filling and certainly enough for one person. There is an Early Bird discount is available everyday until 7pm, with 25% off the All You Can Eat Stirfry Buffet (€12.90). Located in the uber cool area of Temple bar in DUblin, I would highly recommend this eatery!
